We've been working with Sticky Rubber Resoles now for a few years and we can honestly say that the consistency of the quality in their work has been impressive and has introduced Australian climbers to the quality of resole expected in places like Europe from their high end operators. Obviously SCARPA in Italy agree with this because recently Sticky Rubber also became an Official SCARPA resoler.
This means that Sticky Rubber Resoles are now the authorised resoler for the two biggest and best climbing shoe brands in the world.
Similar to the La Sportiva resoler title, to get the authorisation from SCARPA is no easy feat and requires a bunch of training and assessing to make sure the techniques and quality of their work is akin to what SCARPA expect in their own Italian factory. Sticky Rubber have to use the same deconstruction and construction methods that SCARPA use themselves.
What does this mean for you when choosing a resoler for your SCARPA Shoes?
While Sticky Rubber may be a little more expensive than some other operators, they are supplied, from SCARPA, the actual soles to the models of their shoes. They don't cut them out of generic rubber. Also their construction methods are the same as what SCARPA use in the first place to construct their shoes. They also know how to adjust the tension in the midsoles to match how the model was originally intended and can run repairs on the uppers where necessary.
This means that the shoe you get back will be just as good, just as high performance as the one you bought brand new at the shop. Even better, it will already be worn in - so no breaking in period.
We won't go into all the details past that as we already wrote a full blog post on the benefits of being an Authorised Resoler in our La Sportiva Blog HERE. But if you have any further questions don't hesitate to reach out to us or Sticky Rubber Resoles directly and we'd love to help.
